چکیده

TSPLIB is Gerhard Reinelt's library of some hundred instances of the traveling salesman problem. Some of these instances arise from drilling holes in printed circuit boards; others arise from X-ray crystallography; yet others have been constructed articially. None of them (with a single exception) is contrived to be hard and none of them is contrived to be easy; their sizes range from 17 to 85,900 cities; some of them have been solved and others have not. We have solved twenty previously unsolved problems from the TSPLIB. One of them is the problem with 225 cities that was contrived to be hard; the sizes of the remaining nineteen range from 1,000 to 7,397 cities. Like all the successful computer programs for solving the TSP, our computer program follows the scheme designed by George Dantzig, Ray Fulkerson, and Selmer Johnson in the early nineteen-fties. The purpose of this preliminary report is to describe some of our innovations in implementing the Dantzig-Fulkerson-Johnson scheme; we are planning to write up a more comprehensive account of our work soon.

INTEGRATING CASE-BASED REASONING, KNOWLEDGE-BASED APPROACH AND TSP ALGORITHM FOR MINIMUM TOUR FINDING

Imagine you have traveled to an unfamiliar city. Before you start your daily tour around the city, you need to know a good route. In Network Theory (NT), this is the traveling salesman problem (TSP). A dynamic programming algorithm is often used for solving this problem. However, when the road network of the city is very complicated and dense, which is usually the case, it will take too long fo...

Finding Tours in the TSP

The traveling salesman problem, or TSP for short, is easy to state: given a nite number of \cities" along with the cost of travel between each pair of them, nd the cheapest way of visiting all the cities and returning to your starting point. The travel costs are symmetric in the sense that traveling from city X to city Y costs just as much as travel-ing from Y to X; the \way of visiting all the...

TSP Cuts Which Do Not Conform to theTemplate

The rst computer implementation of the Dantzig-Fulkerson-Johnson cutting-plane method for solving the traveling salesman problem , written by Martin, used subtour inequalities as well as cutting planes of Gomory's type. The practice of looking for and using cuts that match prescribed templates in conjunction with Gomory cuts was continued in computer codes of Miliotis, Land, and Fleischmann. Gr...

Isolation and characterization of the Enterococcus faecalis strain isolated from red tilapia (Oreochromis hybrid) in Indonesia: A preliminary report

The number of fishes were conducted a series of bacteriological examinations to confirm the clinical symptoms that appeared and led to streptococcal infection. Results of the external examination from two moribund red tilapia found the hemorrhagic traces in some parts of the body such as the cranial area near the mouth, eyes, operculum, and some body parts and erosion on the tail, pectoral, and...
